Dog Obedience

Standard

This is very good information if you are looking to train your dog.   Clicker Training C/T

  1. Practice Food Luring

Place a treat in the palm of your hand and close your fingers over it. Present your hand to your dog, wrist up. and encourage her to touch your hand with her nose. When she/he does, say “Good”, then open your hand and give her the treat.

2      Practice Sit at your left side

Place a reward in the palm of your hand and close your fingers over it. Place your hand directly in front of your dog’s nose. Slowly begin to move your hand up and over the top of her head. A hungry dog will follow your hand movement. This movement will cause her/him to sit. As the dog is moving into the sit position c/t and give her a food treat. Release by saying “Break”. Next lure the dog into position on your left side. C/t. Say release word. Lure 3 times with food in hand. c/t the sit. Work on getting a straight sit at the side. Now use a hand signal for sit with no treat in your hand. IT she sits then c/t. Give a big reward.

If she doesn’t sit, ignore and try again. Give her/him time to make the right choice. If she/he doesn’t seem to understand- lure her with the treat again but don’t c/t, use verbal praise instead. Put your treat in your pocket and try the hand signal again. Give a big reward for success. Once the dog is responding consistently to your hand signal then add the verbal command SIT. Hesitate a second then give your hand signal.

Now add your command word SIT just before you give your band signal. Gradually hesitate a little longer between signals. Soon the dog will be responding to your verbal command. Remember to release the dog after each sit.

These do work it just takes time :)

First Class Training for Dogs and Owners

Standard

Hello everyone-if you are wondering why I am posting this it is because a close friend Gwen Little is a trainer for this Pawrific “Paus-N-Train” classes. When you are someone who loves your pet and want the best for them I highly recommend them, like myself having foster dogs come and go and my own it is very important to understand them and sometimes it is so hard to know what and how to do something the correct way. Pawrific Update on Fostering Rescue Pets

Standard

Reasons to foster

Fostering is a “wonderful experience” for you and your family ‐ you can feel good knowing you have helped save a dog’s life.  Foster dogs provide companionship and purpose ‐ your act of kindness is repaid in rewards that are beyond words. This is so true as each animal that comes to you has a special need and has so much to give, and love. There is no one word that can describe the feeling of fostering – way to many!  It’s like watching your own children grow and become independent.

 Dogs needing foster homes

• Puppies too young and/or immature to be adopted.

• Puppies and young dogs

• Older or senior dogs that will be more comfortable in a home environment.

• Injured dogs and/or those recovering from surgery.

• Neglected or abused dogs that need tender loving care.

• Dogs with special medical needs.

• Abandoned mothers with litters of puppies.

• Any dog when the shelter becomes overcrowded and might be euthanized.

There are good rescues out there and you want to be sure because there are bad ones out there too.

I Hope this helps some of you that may be thinking about this, if you have any questions at all please email me at plusgbsales@hotmail.com and in the subject put: Adopt-Foster-WP

Thank you for taking time in reading this.

Easter Gift Baskets

"Just for the Kids"

Well it is getting close to this time again, I know it is a bit early but when you have this type of business it is hard to know the amount of items you need for this special time. As a lot of site tell you that these products are limited well they are at least mine-I guess it is like they say “Can’t please all of the people all of the time”.

Getting baskets ready for special occasions does take time, finding the right container, then products which are very important, because I want to have products that are well known like Lindt Chocolates. Then there is the wrapping what style, kind and more; so I hope these gift baskets are ones you like and if you want you can order these ahead of time. You would have to pay for them when ordered but you can state a date you want them sent to your loved ones.

Remember if you have any question’s at all you can email me at plusgbsales(at)hotmail.com just take out the word at and ad @ I will be more than happy to reply and help in any way I can. Oh, If I don’t the answer I will find out for you, you get personalized treatment shopping in my store like family-Family means the world to me. Thank you

Why is it so important to Adopt you ask will that’s easy; There are so many perfectly well-mannered loving dogs out there that are not wanted by their owners because maybe they grew to fast, no time for them, can’t be bothered, they are not puppies any more and so many more.
